Serene Chang’s thirteen years of work experience in corporate world has proven that a title does not automatically anoint one as a leader. Leadership is comprised of a dynamic mix of behaviours, mindset, and skills, which are used to move people where a leader wants them to be for the betterment of the organization. Leadership is about action, not position.

Serene is competent, proactive, and results-driven professional, equipped with well-developed academic qualifications in finance, accountancy and banking operation, combined with extensive experience in diverse areas involving cost accounting, auditing, taxation, financial accounting and reporting. Her proven ability to improve operations, generate business growth, and maximize profits through achievements in plan design, loss prevention, finance management, internal controls, and productivity and efficiency improvements. She also adept at analysing operational and financial needs; proficient in simplifying and communicating complex financial scenarios. Reliable for her success in delivering excellent analysis skills and business regulation expertise as well as optimizing financial efficiency and surpassing organization targets, she shows paramount efforts in maximizing performance of financial operations with emphasis on strategy formulation, policy and procedure development. Serene is also commended for interactive, motivational, and decisive management style in developing dedicated financial service teams to support business objectives.

During her tenure as a Group Manager in Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company, has allowed her the opportunities to involve in the accounts and operations of this industry. She able to exercise her experience accumulated in her previous employment to contribute to the improvement of the company’s profit and cash flow.

Her experience in the forwarding and shipping company that gave her essential organisational skills in this industry. She conducted research and route planning, taking into consideration the kind of cargo being transported, the distance involved and any specific customer requirements with regards to the final delivery time. She was exposed to experience in operating, insurance, customs documentation and other regulatory requirements, especially for freight moving across national borders. Her role in the Company also allows her to travel locally to respective branches to strengthen the operations efficiencies.

She also worked in an international insurance company and was exposed to many facets of the insurance operations during her tenure as an Assistant Manager. She liaised mostly with customers in Middle East She travelled to Singapore frequently for trainings. Her stint in KPMG has exposed her to offshore, trust, leasing and trading and manufacturing industries. She was an Audit Senior leading team to conduct business assurance and advisory services.
